type='text'>Happy 2005!

Happy New Year friends! We hope this newsletter finds you happy and well. As most of you know this will be our first new year together as a married couple. But before we look ahead to 2005, we would like to update you on what we’ve been doing in 2004.
Marti has been promoted at PacificSource to a Human Resources Recruiter. She has been with them now four and a half years, and we are thankful that she has a good job. She enjoys being a part of the PacificSource team. When she’s not at work she is spending time with family and friends. December 0f 2004, her sister Lesli had a baby boy. His name is Colten Seth and he joins his two year old sister Bradi Ray. We love having Bradi come over and stay with us. I guess it’s about time for us to think about having our own little elk hunters. Who know’s maybe by next year’s newsletter we will have some “Baby” news for you. As for now we'll just keep practicing.
We did get a few things accomplished this year though. November 27th we got married in Drain. We were really happy with the way the wedding went. The ceremony was great and the reception was fun. It was awesome being able to celebrate this occasion with family and great friends. Thanks to all of you who helped make our wedding special.
The other big news for us in 2004 was were able to buy a house in Creswell. We had looked at places off and on for the past year, never getting real serious about it. Then Marti was looking through the paper one Sunday and she saw this house in Creswell for sale. We decided to go take a look at it and we instantly loved it. After walking through it with the owner’s we decided to make them an offer right then. We didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity and see this house go to someone else. The owner’s (who we’re really cool), accepted offer that day and just like that we were homeowners. We would like to encourage all of you who have not got a chance to see our new house to come by and visit soon. We love having company over! And Dallas our Westie terrier loves company also.
Our one big vacation of the year was a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in May. It was Marti’s birthday present. Don’t I give great gifts? Well, now that I have her hooked I bet she won’t be getting that type of present every year. Cabo was awesome. We highly recommend it. We got lot’s of sun, ate great food and drank some yummy drinks. Some other highlights were going fishing out in the ocean, shopping, and betting on the N.B.A. playoff games every night while taking in some of the nightly entertainment! The best thing about the whole trip though was how well we got along. On the way home on the plane I remember thinking to myself, “ I can actually picture myself marrying this girl.”
Things were pretty busy for Blomberg trucking this year. We started out the year working out Tom Folley out of Elkton. Then during the summer we hauled a lot off the McKenzie up above McKenzie Bridge. Beautiful scenery up there but early mornings.
Then this fall we were kind all over the place around the Drain and Cottage Grove area.
This was the old man’s 35th year of having his own logging trucks. He’s hung in there pretty good all these years. I am still vice-president of the company and have received employee of the month 96 months in a row. Thanks to Weenier retiring from the company in 1996. Right now I am pretty content driving log truck. The money has gotten a little better lately and I enjoy getting to see things out in the woods.
This hunting season was both memorable and enjoyable. My brother Dustin and I tried a new strategy for bowhunting this season. We would peddle our bikes in behind lock gates. Due to fire danger these roads were closed to motorized vehicles but open to foot or bicycle traffic. This type of hunting was challenging and rewarding. Challenging because we would ride anywhere from 10 to 20 miles a day, and the going up hill really burns the old leg muscles. Rewarding though because we almost never seen any other hunters and we were able to hunt lots of beautiful country with out the pressure of other hunters. I was able to take a nice five point the third weekend of season that green scored 260. I am really glad that Marti likes elk burger because we have got a freezer full to eat this year. Yum!
It truly has been an amazing year for us in so many ways, but the thing that I’m most thankful for is the spiritual growth in both Marti and I’s life! We both have enjoyed a closer relationship with Christ this year. The more we learn to trust him, the better it gets. It’s exciting to see him at work in our lives. We love the church we go to. Our pastor is awesome and the worship music is fun and uplifting. Our church is called Eastside Faith Center and it is located off of Centennial Boulevard and is just west of Autzen Stadium. If any of you are interested, we would love for you to join us some Sunday!
We hope you and your family have a wonderful and exciting 2005! Stay in touch and let us know how what your up to and how things are going. Happy Hunting and Go Ducks!
